Thinking about writing a science fiction story

Or at least dedicating time to attempting to write one. I want to incorporate some of my philosophical ideas about science and especially about the singularity, but I am running into problems in the fact that I am convinced that a great deal of contemporary popular physics is unfounded and I am really averse to anything about black holes. I’m considering that a near future story set on earth, while being more complicated in some ways, might help me avoid the topic of cosmology which I am sure people would have a problem with my views of it. Fuck, it must be the time of night that I start rambling.
